Justin Barnes is coming home.
The former Red Bank and University of Tennessee at Chattanooga quarterback has accepted the position of football coach at Soddy-Daisy.
Barnes, who coached last fall at Dacula, Ga., will begin his duties immediately and will be teaching world geography.
At Red Bank, Barnes was a two-time All-City performer and played for legendary coach Tom Weathers from 1995-1998. He also was a three-year baseball letterman.
During his time at UTC Barnes tied then school and Southern Conference records with six TD passes in a single game. He was with the Mocs as a player from 1999-2002 and served two seasons as a student assistant (2003-2004).
