Georgia is expected to be without sophomore kicker Marshall Morgan for its season opener at Clemson.

Morgan was arrested on a jet ski this past Saturday and was charged with boating under the influence. The arrest of the 6-foot-3, 201-pounder from Fort Lauderdale occurred on Lake Sinclair, which is in central Georgia near Milledgeville.

According to athletic association policy, student-athletes face automatic suspension for alcohol-related arrests. However, it is not known whether Georgia officials will treat Morgan's BUI in the same manner as a DUI, which results in an athlete missing 20 percent of the competition for an upcoming season.

The Bulldogs already must face Clemson without sophomore safety Josh Harvey-Clemons, who admitted to campus police this spring to smoking marijuana.

Morgan was erratic as a freshman, making 8 of 14 field-goal attempts and 63 of 67 extra-point tries. His 63 extra points did set a single-season school mark.

A potential replacement for the Aug. 31 opener could be redshirt junior walk-on Adam Erickson, who is listed as the backup punter but made a 46-yard field goal in the 2012 G-Day game.
