The chief of criminal investigations for the Bradley County Sheriff’s office is himself under investigation on allegations of official misconduct and tampering with evidence.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation this afternoon confirmed the probe involving Capt. Jimmy Woody. Spokeswoman Kristin Helm said the investigation is open and ongoing results of the investigation would be turned over to the 10th Judicial District Attorney’s Office for review.
Bradley Chief Deputy Wayne Bird said Woody is on administrative leave.
Bird said he could not comment on the investigation.
