Nationally fifth-ranked Chattanooga State beat visiting Roane State 8-0 and 8-0 in TCCAA softball Friday. Shelby Willard (18-0) and Sharlene Godoy (14-4) each struck out eight batters for the Lady Tigers (41-5, 26-4).

Kevin Roberts went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three RBIs and two runs scored as Bryan College won 8-2 Friday in the opener of its Appalachian Athletic Conference baseball series at Montreat.
