Erin Marie Piper became the bride of John Michael Goodman II on Saturday, July 19, at Knoxville Baptist Church. The ceremony was performed by Tim Norton. The bride is the daughter of Michael and Debbie Maples of Jefferson City and Gregory and Cindy Piper of Sparta, N.J. She is the granddaughter of Shirley Whaley, the late Hugh Whaley, and Charles and Sara Piper of Jefferson, City. The bridegroom is the son of Mike and Cathy Goodman of Cleveland, Tenn. He is the grandson of Lee and Mary Howell of Apison, Tenn., Marlene P. Goodman of Ooltewah and the late John H. Goodman Jr. Kaitlyn Maples attended her sister as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were April Lane Crysel, Brooke Edwards, Sarah Jane Park, Julia Shatlock and Mary Haley Wade. The flower girl was Sarah Collins. Mr. Goodman served as best man for his son. Groomsmen were Austin Goodman, brother of the bridegroom, Bob Harshbarger, Josh Hunter, Brett Kindle and Wesley Rackley. The bride graduated from the University of Tennessee and East Tennessee State University. She is employed by The Veterans’ Hospital in Memphis and is pursuing a degree at the University of Tennessee at Memphis. She is a member of Alpha Baptist Church in Morristown, Tenn. The bridegroom graduated from Cleveland High School and ETSU. He is pursuing a degree at the College of Dentistry at UT Memphis and is a member of First United Methodist Church in Cleveland. A reception was held at the Knoxville World’s Fairgrounds. The couple took a wedding trip to St. Lucia. They reside in Memphis.
