DeSha - Rothberger Elisabeth Ann Rothberger became the bride of Nicholas Scott DeSha in a ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 12, at the Wedding Chapel. The Rev. Cliff Hudson performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Glenn Smotherman and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Miller Rothberger Jr. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Randall Allen DeSha. Lisa Traviesa Rothberger was matron of honor. Tommy Swafford served as best man, and Chase Randall Rothberger was ring bearer. A reception was held at the Smotherman home.

Jackson received a bachelor¹s degree in history and political science, magna cum laude, from Adelphi University. Bridesmaids were Emily Hill, Sara Hill Nelson, Kathleen Patten, Sarah Patten Adcock, Cara Nossaman Anderson and Dune Lawrence. Hilary Griggs and Oona Nelson were flower girls. Dr. Daxter Holder served as best man. Groomsmen were Bryan Wheelock, William Montgomery, Mathew Scott, Ben Rodriguez, Dr. Rustan Adcock, Ben O¹Connell and Zachary Bruns. Mancel Adcock, Hugh Griggs, Lyle Griggs and Henry Nelson were ring bearers. A reception was held at the home of the bride¹s parents. The couple took a wedding trip to Columbia, South America, and now reside in Washington, D.C.

Miss Butcher is a graduate of Hixson High School. She received her bachelor¹s and master¹s degree¹s in sociology from Brigham Young University. She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and is employed as a teaching assistant/research assistant by Brigham Young University. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Lou and Helen McNairy and the late Lowen and Anna Wight. Mr. Wight is a graduate of Timpview High School and Brigham Young University. He is a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and is a linguist in the United States Navy.

She is a member of St. Paul¹s Episcopal Church, and is employed as an architect by Artech.
