The future bride is the daughter of Theresa Elizabeth Stewart Alder and the late James Thomas Alder Jr. Parents of the future bridegroom are the late Howard Harmon Mofsky and the late Doris Helen Utter Mofsky. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Nov. 19, at the home of the bride-elect. The future bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Thomas Alder Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Atticus Kavanaugh Stewart. Ms. Alder graduated from Brainerd High School and attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church and is an ambassador for Barefoot Books. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Samuel and Lillian Mofsky, Marshall Utter of Rochester, N.Y., and the late Vera Millard Utter Strait. Mr. Mofsky is a graduate of Livonia Central High School. He received certification in horticulture from May Occupational Center in Mount Morris, N.Y. He is a member of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He is employed as a security officer for Securitas and a driver for Groome Transportation.

The future bride is the granddaughter of Marcella Petitjean Bellue of Baton Rouge, La., the late Russell Bellue, the late Robert Drouet and Mr. and Mrs. Keith Ponish of Corpus Christi, Texas. Dr. Drouet received an associate’s degree in poultry science and Spanish, magna cum laude, from Snead State Community College. She received a bachelor’s degree in poultry science, magna cum laude, and a doctorate of veterinary medicine from Auburn University. She is a veterinarian at Middle Valley Animal Hospital. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Owen Nerren of Isola, Miss., Will Mary Pratt of Monteagle, Tenn., and the late Ed Pratt. Mr. Pratt received an associate’s degree in liberal arts from Wallace State Community College and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Mississippi, where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He is a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and is production manager for Pratt HomeBuilders.

Jin and Kilgore

The engagement of Xiuming Jin and Clinton Travis Kilgore is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Wenqi Jin and Weiying Lv of Beijing, China. Parents of the future bridegroom are Dr. Larry and Patricia Kilgore of Knoxville. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Dec. 10, at St. John’s Cathedral in Knoxville. Miss Jin received a bachelor’s degree from Beijing Normal University. She received a master’s degree in geography, and is pursuing a master’s degree in finance economics at Ohio University. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Dr. and Mrs. William Morehead of Malden, Mo., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clint Kilgore Jr. Mr. Kilgore received a bachelor’s degree in geography from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and a master’s degree in geography from Ohio University. He is also pursuing a master’s degree in finance economics at Ohio University and is a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Knoxville.

Onate and Woodward

The engagement of Beverly Del Rosario Onate and Lt. j.g Andrew Lake Woodward is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Gary and Elizabeth Onate of San Diego, Calif. Parents of the future bridegroom are Terry and Sally Woodward. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Dec. 17, in Immaculata Parish at the University of San Diego. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Miguela Onate, of Tarlac, Philippines, the late Raymundo Onate, the late Rodolfo Del Rosario of Manila, Philippines and Adoracion and Theodore Bender of Chula Vista, Calif. Miss Onate received a bachelor’s degree in interior design at San Diego State University. She is a member of St. Brendan’s Chapel of Naval Base San Diego. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Lolita Woodward, the late James Woodward, Robert H. Copeland Sr. and the late Grace Copeland. Lt. Woodward received a bachelor’s degree in history from Louisiana State University. He is a member of The Rock Church in San Diego and is a surface warfare officer in the U.S. Navy.

He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. He is a member of Central Baptist Church in Spring City and is a radiology resident.

Farrell and Cornett

Cristin Louise Farrell became the bride of Brandon Kyle Cornett in a ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 15, at Little Log Wedding Chapel in Gatlinburg, Tenn. The Rev. Travis Tatum performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Jane and Steve Farrell. Parents of the bridegroom are Lynn and Robert Ludwig of Waterloo, Iowa. A luncheon reception was held at Calhoun’s Restaurant. After a honeymoon in Gatlinburg, the couple resides in this city.
