Worland and Beagan

Suzannah Sally Worland became the bride of Joshua Caleb Beagan in a ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 25, at the home of her parents, Hidden Hollow Farm in Chickamauga, Ga. The Rev. Hutch Garmany performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Sally and David Worland. Parents of the bridegroom are Jordana and Bill Beagan of Chickamauga. Bonny Jean Worland was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Bonnie Worland, Taylor Worland, Holly Afman, Shalane Beagan Lamb and Emmalyn Bradford. Mr. Beagan served his son as best man. Groomsmen were Nathan Kaiser, Craig Worland, Scott Worland, Colton Sears and Paul Roddy. Logan Thomas was an usher. A reception was held at Hidden Hollow Farm. After a wedding trip to Michigan Great Lakes, the couple resides in Chickamauga.

Grubbs and Clark

The engagement of Elizabeth Victoria “Tory” Grubbs and Capt. Thomas Andrew Clark is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Shelby and Lynne Grubbs. Parents of the future bridegroom are Lisa Marchand Kupferer of The Woodlands, Texas, and Peter A. Clark of Kyiv, Ukraine. The wedding is planned for spring 2014. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Jean Victoria Dodge of Guelph, Ontario, Canada, the late George A. Dodge and the late Mary Betty and Russell N. Grubbs. Miss Grubbs is a graduate of Baylor School. She received a bachelor’s degree in international studies from Kenyon College, and was a Fulbright Scholar in Kastamonu, Turkey. She is a trade services coordinator at the World Trade Center in Savannah, Ga. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Ellen and Gilbert Marchand of Denver, Colo., and the late Joyce and Ralph Clark. Capt. Clark is a graduate of Baylor School. He received a bachelor’s degree with honors in engineering management from the United States Military Academy at West Point. He is a captain in the U.S. Army.

Kidd and Gray

The engagement of Ashley Ann Panashy Kidd and Adam West Gray is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Perk and Debbie Kidd of Princeton, W.Va. Parents of the future bridegroom are Butch and Donna Gray of West Bloomfield, Mich. The wedding is planned for Saturday, June 8, at the Fairyland Club on Lookout Mountain. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Nancy Panashy of Princeton, and Mary Kidd of Oak Hill, W. Va. Miss Kidd received a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in industrial relations from West Virginia University. She is a human resources supervisor at Olin Chlor Alkali Products Division. The future bridegroom received a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Michigan State University. He is a process controls engineer at Olin Chlor Alkali Products in Charleston, Tenn.

Worland and Miller

The engagement of Bonny Jean Worland and David John Miller is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Sally and David Worland of Chickamauga, Ga. Parents of the future bridegroom are Sarah and David G. Miller. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Jan. 5, at Mountain Cove Farms in Chickamauga. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Heatwole C. Thomas of Chickamauga, the late Bonny Jean Thomas, Paul W. Worland and the late Sylvia Lee Worland. Miss Worland is a graduate of Chattanooga Christian School. She is pursuing a degree in English education at Berry College, and is a member of Rock Creek Fellowship Church in Rising Fawn, Ga. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Harriet and Frederick Miller of New Castle, Pa. Mr. Miller is a graduate of Chattanooga Christian School. He attended Chattanooga State Community College and Dordt College. He is a horticulture technician at WinShape Retreat Center at Berry College, and is a member of East Ridge Presbyterian Church.

The engagement of Jillian Robin Marie Alexander and Christopher Adam Hollis is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Henri Etta Seay Alexander and Robert W. Alexander Jr. Parents of the future bridegroom are Rebecca Young Yocum of Savannah, Ga., and Richard Hollis of Dalton, Ga. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at Creative Arts Guild in Dalton. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Carl Seay Jr. of Rossville, Betty Lou Alexander, the late Robert W. Alexander Sr., and the late Sallie A. Phipps. Miss Alexander is a graduate of Boyd-Buchanan School. She received a bachelor’s degree in legal assistant studies from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where she was a member of Omega Phi Alpha service sorority. She is a legal assistant at Summers and Wyatt, P.C., and is a member of Brainerd Church of Christ. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Floyd and Charlotte Hollis of Dalton, Frank Young of Cartersville, Ga., and the late Aileen Young. Mr. Hollis is a graduate of Southeast Whitfield County High School. He received an associate’s degree from Chattanooga State Community College and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in international studies at UTC. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy.

The future bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Paul Dolder Jr. and the late Dr. and Mrs. Samuel Perdrieau Galphin Sr. Miss Galphin is a graduate of Girls Preparatory School. She received a bachelor’s degree in management and entrepreneurship from Samford University, where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. She was presented in the 2007 Cotton Ball. She is employed as a sales representative for ConAgra Foods. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Helen Bar Hanson of Grand Haven, Mich., the late Ellwyn Hilton Hanson, Heloise LaJoie Siegel of Grand Rapids and the late Robert William Siegel Sr. Mr. Siegel is a graduate of Forest Hills Northern High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in marketing and management from Northwood University. He is employed as a client district manager at ADP, and is a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Grand Rapids.

The engagement of English Lauren Whitehead and Chuck Gomez is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Lisa and Greg Whitehead of Cleveland, Tenn. Parents of the future bridegroom are Yvette and Charles Gomez of Chesapeake, Va. The wedding is planned for Sunday, June 9, 3013, at The Barn at High Point Farms in Flintstone, Ga. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Patricia Thomas and Sylvia Whitehead of Cleveland, the late Willard Whitehead, Irene Hawpe of Dover, Del., and the late James Hawpe. Miss Whitehead received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is a registered nurse in the emergency room at Children’s Hospital at Erlanger. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Aida Valles of Philadelphia, and the late Miriam and Bernard Gomez. Mr. Gomez is a graduate of UTC and is pursuing a medial degree at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine.

The wedding is planned for Friday, April 26, at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Aiken. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Gladys Adams Niland of Aiken, the late Thomas B. Niland Jr., Marilyn Deloach Collins of North Augusta, S.C., and the late Edward Joshua Collins. Miss Collins is a graduate of Aiken High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of South Carolina. She is a nurse with Erlanger Health Systems, and is a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Connie Marie Brakebill of Athens, Tenn., the late Richard Hudson Brakebill, Waynette Blaylock Sosebee and the late Richard Hudson Sosebee. Mr. Brakebill is a graduate of McCallie School. He received a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Towson University and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of South Carolina. He is a nurse with Erlanger Health Systems, and plans to pursue certification as a certified registered nurse anesthetist this spring at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Rachel Shea DeFriese became the bride of Ronald Avery Sexton in a ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 20, at The Mill event hall. Brian Oney performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Rodney and Kelli DeFriese of Trenton, Ga. Parents of the bridegroom are Ronnie Sexton of Chattanooga and Sharron and Mike Frady of Trenton. Chelsie Cureton, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Brittany Adcox, Kimberly Shelton, Mary Carol Austin and Andria Powers. Meadow Powers was the flower girl. Randy Wallin served as best man. Groomsmen were Jason Durham, Matt Woods and Russ Powers. Hayden DeFriese was ring bearer. A reception was held at The Mill. The couple took a wedding trip to San Francisco. They reside in this city.

The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mrs. Mackenzie Todd Miller of Versailles, Ky., the late Mr. Miller, Mrs. John Wesley Queen of Roswell, Ga., and the late Mr. Queen. Mr. Queen received a bachelor’s degree in business economics from Wofford College, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He is president of Simplified Logistics Solutions LLC, and is a member of Downtown Presbyterian Church.
