Gross and Queen
The engagement of Virginia Preston Gross and John Wesley Queen III is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thomas Gross of Montgomery, Ala. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. John Wesley Queen Jr. of Signal Mountain. The wedding is planned for Saturday, March 16, at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Montgomery. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. John Henry Gross of Royse City, Texas, the late Mr. Gross and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Alston Williamson. Miss Gross received a bachelor’s degree in education from Furman University, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, and a master’s degree in counseling from Denver Seminary. She is a psychotherapist and is a member of Downtown Presbyterian Church in Greenville, S.C. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mrs. Mackenzie Todd Miller of Versailles, Ky., the late Mr. Miller, Mrs. John Wesley Queen of Roswell, Ga., and the late Mr. Queen. Mr. Queen received a bachelor’s degree in business economics from Wofford College, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He is president of Simplified Logistics Solutions LLC, and is a member of Downtown Presbyterian Church.
Bacon and Cox
Kelly Elizabeth Bacon became the bride of Matthew Chase Cox in a ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 25, at West End United Methodist Church in Nashville. The Rev. John Feldhacker performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Stuart Bacon of Dayton, Tenn. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. James Cox of Westmoreland, Tenn. Jill Bacon Whitfield and Erika Bacon Varble were matrons of honor. Bridesmaids were Catherine Sawyer, Jennifer Cox and Nisha Patel. Stella Kate Whitfield was the flower girl. Ryan Kleeman served as best man. Groomsmen were Peter Ripley, Trone Sawyer, Chad Jarboe and Rob Brackin. A reception was held at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville. After a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple resides in Nashville.
Risley and Miller
Hannah Elizabeth Risley became the bride of Benjamin Steven Miller in a ceremony on Saturday, July 7, in Patten Chapel, on the campus of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. The Rev. Mark Smith performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Kevin and Stacy Risley. Parents of the bridegroom are Steve and Judy Miller of Hamilton, Ala. Nicole LuAnn Duncan was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Katie Beth Beckham, Anne-Elizabeth Maddux Frazier, Callie Smith Gean, Sarah Elizabeth Garey, Lauren Lusk Horton, Rachel Diane King, Marcy Miller Mayes and Allison Renee Reese. Kathryn Elise Horton was the flower girl. Elinor Ivy Stone, Colt Risley and Cooper Risley were bell ringers. Daniel Manley served as best man. Groomsmen were Nathan Polley, Wes Mayes, Taylor Risley, Adam Stewart, Matt Burleson, Tyler Bowen, Kyle Crews and Rob Hatchett. Robert Martin, Stephen Ikard, Dylan Carpentar and Brad Nesmith were ushers. Luke Lusk was ring bearer. A reception was held at the Tivoli Theatre. After a wedding trip to Anguilla, British Virgin Islands, the couple resides in Little Rock, Ark.
