Laura O’Brien Evans became the bride of Thomas Verner Wilson Jr. in a ceremony on Saturday, June 30, at Woodmont Christian Church in Nashville. The Rev. Max Mayo performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Allen Evans of Dalton, Ga. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Verner Wilson of Athens, Ga. Laura Lynn Boring was maid of honor. Noelle Suggs Eskew was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Megan Dickerson, Lillian Long Douglas, Rachel Horn Osteen, Kelley Ford Kaigler, Sara Gunn Pennington, Sara-Kate Arnall Roberts, Haley Anne Strode, Cynthea Marie Wilson and Stephanie Michelle Wilson. Mr. Wilson served his son as best man. Groomsmen were Satchele Thomas Burns, Steven Matthew Cavinder, Drew Brantley Denman, Terry Allen Evans Jr., William Jason Florence, Jacob Daniel Griffin, Matthew Edward Gruetter, Charles Andrew Smith, Eric William Staton and Joshua Kyle Vanderhooft. Ushers were Evan Gable Crosby, Robert Defriese Evans and Navondre Jamal Henderson. A reception was held at War Memorial Auditorium in Nashville. After a wedding trip to the Dominican Republic, the couple resides in Nashville.
Burgess and Henderson
The engagement of Shelley Maria Burgess and Samuel James Henderson Jr. is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Eddie and Debbie Burgess of Flintstone, Ga. Parents of the future bridegroom are Sam and Eugenia Henderson of Macon, Ga. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Oct. 6, at Mountain Cove Farms in Chickamauga, Ga. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Ninna Hudson of Flintstone and Buddy and Nell Burgess. Miss Burgess graduated from Chattanooga Christian School and received a nursing degree from Chattanooga State Community College. She is an oncology nurse at Parkridge Medical Center. She attends First-Centenary United Methodist Church. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Frank and Annie Jones of Macon and Sam and Alice Henderson of Petal, Miss. Mr. Henderson graduated from Stratford Academy and received a doctor of pharmacy degree from the University of Georgia. He is a pharmacist at Parkridge Medical Center. He attends First-Centenary United Methodist Church.
Hagedorn and Apyan
Leah Anne Hagedorn became the bride of Paul Sarkis Apyan in a ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 22, at Basilica of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. James Vick performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Robert and Susan Hagedorn of Ringgold, Ga. Parents of the bridegroom are Dr. Paul and Laura Apyan. He is the grandson of Fred and Emily Hardwick of Dandridge, Tenn. Polly Agee was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Ashley Pumpkin, Sara Watson and Jessica Schachleiter. Nora Dib was the flower girl. Alexander Apyan was best man. Groomsmen were Josh Lawson, Jake McClure and Derek Rende. Rami Dib was ring bearer. A reception was held at Lindsay Street Hall. After a wedding trip to St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, the couple resides in Cleveland, Tenn. The bride is a graduate of graduated of Baylor School, where she played on the girls’ four-time state - champion golf team. She attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, and received a business management degree with honors from Carson-Newman College, where she was captain of the women’s golf team. She is employed as a manufacturing buyer for global procurement for Merck Consumer Care. The bridegroom is a graduate of Hixson High School, where he played on the 2004 Tennessee TSSAA A/AA state-champion golf team and was honored as individual state golf champion. He received a degree in business administration and personal financial planning from the University of Southern Mississippi, where he played on the men’s golf team and was a two-time Cleveland Golf Scholar All-American. He is a touring professional golfer.
Gaines and Davis
Amanda Kyle Gaines became the bride of Dr. Patrick Thomas Davis in a ceremony on Saturday, June 23, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Nashville. Doctor Carson Lefter Saylor Jr. performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Robert Gaines Jr. of Brentwood, Tenn. Parents of the bridegroom are Dr. and Mrs. James Phillip Davis Jr. Weslie Jarvis Dunn and Christy Chassereau Bryan served as the bride’s honor attendants. Tracy Bogard, Sarah Borst, Morgan Lambert, Lauren Shibley and Lisa Swafford Vanderwall were bridesmaids. Leighton Heilein, Sutton Heilein and Mckylie Johnson were flower girls. The bridegroom’s father and his brother, Christopher Davis, served as best men. Groomsmen were David Bryan, Josh Chambless, Seth Cooper, Graham Foster and Andrew Gaines. James R. Fitzpatrick, Bradley Cooper, Sean LeNoue and Travis Pagliara were ushers. A reception was held at The War Memorial in Nashville. The couple plan a wedding trip to Hawaii in November. They reside in Winston-Salem, N.C.

The bride is the daughter of J.D. Finklea of Florence, S.C., and the late Rebecca Huggins Finklea. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wayne Young. Brooke Finklea Lucas was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Kristin Kelly Bland, Jacqueline Lynch Volz, Jessica Blaire Grant, Kathryn Justine McLeod, Courtney Doane Drzyzga, Leah Dawson Wahl and Hannah Buford Kunpf. Adelyn Rebecca Lucas was the flower girl. Mr. Young served his son as best man.
