Engagement

Boyd and Brackett

The engagement of Amber Rebecca Boyd and William Morris Brackett is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Randy and Becky Boyd of Dalton, Ga. Parents of the future bridegroom are Morris and Kathy Brackett of Dalton. The wedding is planned for Saturday, June 8, Brasstown Valley Resort in Young Harris, Ga. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Dortha Gilbert Vinsant of Dalton, the late Lemuel Cain Vinsant, Faye Talley Boyd of Athens, Ga., and the late Randal Hayden Boyd. Miss Boyd is graduate of Dalton High School. She attends Samford University McWhorter School of Pharmacy. She is a doctor of pharmacy candidate, and will be a community pharmacy resident with Mercer University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Atlanta in July. She is a member of Rock Bridge Community Church. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mrs. Gene King Peele, the late Jeptha Franklin Peele and the late Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Hamilton Brackett. Mr. Brackett is a graduate of Dalton High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration, cum laude, and a master’s degree in accounting from Georgia Southern University. He is a staff auditor with Nichols, Cauley and Associates in Atlanta, and is a member of Rock Bridge Community Church.

Engagement

Ferguson and Toll

The engagement of Bethany Kristine Ferguson and Brian Burke Toll is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Steve and Jo Roberson. Parents of the future bridegroom are Gilbert and Jane Toll and Gary and Kathleen Buchanan, all of Philadelphia, Pa. The wedding is planned for Saturday, July 20, at Carriage Lane Inn in Murfreesboro, Tenn. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Al and Virginia Miller and the late John and June Roberson. Miss Ferguson received a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where she was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. She is the regional director of communications for the Tennessee Volunteer Region of the American Red Cross. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Howard and Anne Schultz and the late Herman and Rose Toll. Mr. Toll received a bachelor’s degree in theater from Wilkes University. He is an emergency services director for the American Red Cross, Heart of Tennessee Chapter.

Fuller and Battles

The engagement of Emily Ann Fuller and David C. “Duke” Battles Jr. is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David E. Fuller of Winter Park, Fla. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. David C. Battles of Birmingham, Ala. The wedding is planned for June in Dallas. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Graham Hildebrand and Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Hadik, all of Sarasota, Fla., and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Fuller of Altamonte Springs, Fla. Miss Fuller is a graduate of Providence Christian Academy in Lilburn, Ga. She plans to graduate in May from Baylor University, summa cum laude, with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master of taxation degree. She is a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority, Beta Alpha Psi, Beta Gamma Sigma and Mortar Board honor societies. She is employed by Ernst and Young in Dallas. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell M. Jones, Frances C. Battles of Gardendale, Ala., and the late Olen M. Battles. Mr. Battles is a graduate of McCallie School. He plans to graduate in May from Baylor University, cum laude, with a bachelor’s degree in business fellows and accounting and a master of taxation degree. He is a member of Phi Kappa Chi social club, Beta Alpha Psi and Mortar Board honor societies. He is also employed by Ernst and Young in Dallas.

Swingle and Tull

The engagement of Hailey Swingle and Benjamin Tull is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Charles Swingle and Kathy Swingle. Parents of the future bridegroom are Rick Tull of Deltona, Fla., and Becky Beavers. The wedding is planned for Saturday, May 4, at Tennessee RiverPlace. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Blanche Watts, the late Charles G. Watts and the late Theodore and Margueritte Swingle. Miss Swingle received an associate’s degree in nursing from Chattanooga State Community College and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is a registered nurse and is a member of Red Bank Baptist Church. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Scott and Dianne Smith of Pekin, Ill., Jean Tull of Pekin and the late Tom Tull. Mr. Tull received a bachelor’s degree in finance and a master’s degree in accountancy from UTC. He is a banker and is a member of Red Bank Baptist Church.
