Engagement

Gross and Brackin

The engagement of Teresa Leanne Gross and James Kevin Brackin is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Gross. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Roger Brackin of Hatton, Ala. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Little Brown Church on Signal Mountain. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Denson Broadfoot, Rosa Gross of Columbia, S.C., and the late Ernest Gross. Miss Gross is a graduate of Girls Preparatory School. She received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Auburn University. She is a business planning specialist at TVA and is a member of First Presbyterian Church. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Berla Pace of Hatton, the late Junior Pace and Mr. and Mrs. James Brackin of Town Creek, Ala. Mr. Brackin is a graduate of Hatton High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Alabama at Huntsvile and is pursuing a master’s degree in industrial engineering at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is a project assurance specialist at TVA, and is a member of Cave Springs Baptist Church in Town Creek.

Knox and Kennedy

The engagement of Nellionna Lee Knox and Caleb Eron Kennedy is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Michael and Keily Knox. Parents of the future bridegroom are Dwight and Dee Kennedy of Bryant, Ala., and Kathy Kennedy. The wedding is planned for Sunday, July 14, at The Fairyland Club on Lookout Mountain. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mary Robertson of Ringgold, Ga., the late James Robertson and the late Chalmus and Nellie Knox. Miss Knox is a graduate of Calvary Christian School and is a member of Jones Memorial United Methodist Church. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Derval and Ruth Kennedy and the late Charles and Leona Morrow. Mr. Kennedy is a graduate of North Sand Mountain High School. He is a U.S. Marine and is a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Jennifer Michelle Summers became the bride of Daniel William Jennings in a ceremony on Saturday, March 23, at Lindsay Street Hall. The Rev. Charles Burton performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph P. Summers III. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Jack E. Jennings Jr. Ashley Folkner Sexton and Robin Koch Posey were the bride’s attendants. Groomsmen were Brad Jennings, Zach Jennings and Justin Jones. William Jennings was ring bearer. A reception was held at Lindsay Street Hall. The couple reside in this city.

Burns and Burke

The engagement of May Everett Burns and Jeffrey Aaron Burke is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mrs. Arthur Lee Burns Jr. and the late Mr. Burns. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Eugene Burke of East Amherst, N.Y. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Aug. 3, at Sea Island, Ga. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James E. Walker Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lee Burns Sr. Miss Burns is a graduate of Girls Preparatory School. She received a bachelor’s degree in management and Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. She received a master’s degree in business administration from Stern School of New York University. She was presented in the 65th Cotton Ball and was a member of the court in the 66th Cotton Ball. She is in business development with GoldenTree Asset Management, LP in New York City. She is a member of New York City Junior League and of First-Centenary United Methodist Church. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Stewart Tosh and the late Mr. and Mrs. Archie Alvis Burke. Mr. Burke received a bachelor’s degree in finance from Georgetown University. He is in portfolio management with GoldenTree Asset Management, LP in New York City. He is a member of Perinton Presbyterian Church in Fairport, N.Y.

Katherine “Kate” Joy Harrison became the bride of Drew Timothy Belz in a ceremony on Saturday, March 16, at First United Congregational Church of Christ in Asheville, N.C. The Rev. Steve Smallman Jr. performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Tim and Carol Harrison of Asheville. Parents of the bridegroom are Nat and Mindy Belz of Asheville. Anna Harrison, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Helen Harrison, Lisa Coward, Maggie Asher, Rachel Boone, Karin Olson, Sienna Kendall and Claire Ake. Eve Harrison was the flower girl. James Harrison, brother of the bride, served as best man. Groomsmen were Isaiah Smallman, Sam Belz, Alex Miller, David Barr, Luke Irwin, John Mark Bowers and Michael Kendall. A reception was held at The Crest Pavilion in Asheville. After a wedding trip to St. Martin, the couple resides in Chattanooga.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kennedy Conner. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Donald Stephens of Rocheport, Mo. Bailey Conner and Katie Bogan, sisters of the bride, were honor attendants. Katherine Couvillon and Beth Tipps were bridesmaids. Mary Mattison Bogan was the flower girl. Mr. Stephens served his son as best man. Groomsmen were Garrison Conner, Steven Sapp and Kyle Stephens. Konrad Stephens and Elijah Stephens were ring bearers. A reception was held at Lindsay Street Hall. After a wedding trip to Maine, the couple resides in Wooldridge, Mo.

She received a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from the University of West Georgia. She is a teacher for Paulding County Public Schools and is a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. The future bridegroom is the grandson of June Bell of Chickamauga, Ga.  Mr. Brown is a graduate of Ridgeland High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of West Georgia. He is an acquisition analyst at Ally Financial Bank and is a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Matthew Cutshall served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were John Cutshall, Robert Berghel III, Michael Drake and Franklin Dempsey. William Cutshall was ring bearer. A reception was held at Fairyland Club. After a wedding trip to San Francisco and Napa Valley, Calif., the couple resides in Greenville, S.C.

English Lauren Whitehead became the bride of Dr. Charles “Chuck” Gomez Jr. in a ceremony on Sunday, June 9, at The Barn at High Point Farm in Flintstone, Ga. Shawnessey Cargile performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Greg and Lisa Whitehead of Cleveland, Tenn. Parents of the bridegroom are Charles and Yvette Gomez of Chesapeake, Va. Cassie Scoggins was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Laura Patterson, Brandi Haynie, Anna Fair, Cassandra Rose, Amanda Gomez and Charlene Mason.   Readers were Kacie Wilkes and Meghan Atchley. Emily Patterson was the flower girl. Mr. Gomez served his son as best man. Groomsmen were Eric Garman, Kevin Graham, Sean Rubino, Dane Whitehead, Brett Whitehead and Daniel Olivera. Carson Baxter and Jackson Baxter were ring bearers. A reception was held at The Barn. A wedding trip is scheduled for a later date. The couple resides in Redlands, Calif.

Krista Lynn Harris became the bride of Steven Edward Schiff in a ceremony on Saturday, April 13, at The Grandview on Lookout Mountain. The Rev. Morty C. Lloyd performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Jack P. and Delores Harris of Rossville and the late Carolyn DeBerry Harris. Parents of the bridegroom are Roberta Starr and Jacques C. Schiff Jr., both of Hackensack, N.J. Rhonda Tingle was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Zoe Schiff, Alyssa Schiff and Rachel Schiff.  Vasilios Vikatos served as best man. Groomsmen were Konggi Vikatos and Patrick Walker. A reception was held at The Grandview. After a wedding trip to Belize, the couple resides in Montclair, N.J.

Jolley and Wheelock

Anne-Marie Wheelock became the bride of Dr. James Edward Jolley II in an outdoor ceremony at Lookout Mountain Golf Club on Saturday, May 18, at 6:30 p.m. The Rev. David Graves performed the ceremony. Wedding music was provided by Scott Maclellan, bagpiper, and a string quartet from the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera. The bride is the daughter of Dr. Argil and Robin Wheelock. The bridegroom is the son of Shelby Jolley and the late James E. Jolley. The bride wore a fitted, one-shoulder, petal-pink sheath with white Chantilly lace overlay, created by a New York designer. Christian Caceres was the bride’s honor attendant. Bridesmaids were Sally Bacon, Cristina Gordon, Allie Eady and Kathryn Bartunek. Lauren Hutchinson was the flower girl. The bridesmaids wore petal-pink gowns in varying styles from Boutique Couture. Dr. Jason Hutchinson acted as best man. Groomsmen were Dr. Jack Greer, Dr. Jay Sizemore, Donny Bradley, Brian Simpson, Josh Heath, and Douglas Wheelock and Bryan Wheelock, both brothers of the bride. A dinner reception was held at the Lookout Mountain Golf Club, followed by dancing and cocktails under a tent. The couple’s French vanilla wedding cake was pearl pink decorated in cascading white flowers. Following a wedding trip to Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands, the couple resides in this city. The bride is a Realtor with RE/MAX Renaissance, and the bridegroom is an orthopedic/spine surgeon with Southeastern Spine.
