Mailen and Smith
The engagement of Tiffany Michelle Mailen and David Carter Smith is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Gregory and Deborah Mailen. Parents of the future bridegroom are Robin and Chester Smith of Morristown, Tenn. The wedding is planned for Saturday, July 27, at The Church on Main. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mabel Sherlin of Knoxville and Norma Mailen of Junction City, Kan. Miss Mailen received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Georgia. She is in investor relations for Home Depot. Mr. Smith received a bachelor’s degree in industry management from UTK, where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity and a member of the men’s lacrosse team. He is a self-employed equity trader.
Nelson and Manghane
The engagement of Caritra Yevette Nelson and Larry Manghane Jr. is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William C. Nelson of Chickamauga, Ga. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Larry Manghane. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Sept. 14, at Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Silas Nelson of Russellville, Ala., the late Carrie Nelson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wright. Miss Nelson is a graduate of Ridgeland High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Tennessee State University. She is a senior audit associate for Cigna/HealthSpring and attends Lake Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Nashville. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mary Manghane, the late Mr. and Mrs. Rufus White and the late Lorenzo Manghane. Mr. Manghane is a graduate of Brainerd High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Tennessee State University. He is manager of Tara Investment Group in Nashville and attends Lake Providence Missionary Baptist Church.
Sheorn and Dobesh
Magdaline King Sheorn became the bride of Paul James Dobesh in a ceremony on Saturday, May 4, at Hunter Museum of American Art. The Rev. Charles Perry Scruggs performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard B. Sheorn. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Don Dobesh of Orlando, Fla. Marni Nowacek was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Alison Klein, Jessica Crannis, Melissa Sloan, Joy Sheorn, Chrisana Sandidge, Mallie Whatley, Nikki Walker, Jennifer Miotke, Molly Stover, Amanda Webb and Tana McDermott. Erin Dawlins was the reader. Steve Dobesh served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Blanton Sheorn, Ross Klein, Chris Gelaides, Brian Golembeski, Scott Gorczycki, William Weston, Tom Doherty, Greg Liptak, Todd Surloff and Frank Quinones. A reception was held at Hunter Museum of American Art. The couple took a wedding trip to the Turks and Caicos, British West Indies. They reside in Berkley Lake, Ga.
Weddle and Meyer
Erin Anne Weddle became the bride of Scott Andrew Meyer in a ceremony on Saturday, April 6, at the Chattanooga Wedding Chapel. The Rev. Barry Wilks performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Sam and Marianne Weddle of Ringgold, Ga. Parents of the bridegroom are Dale and Carol Meyer of Lexington, Va. Kristen Weddle, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mandy Smith, Donna Brooks, Haley McNabb, Laura Mitchell and Khadija ElBouchti. Catherine Meyer was the flower girl. Ross Meyer served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Brett Shull, Joe Cuomo, Arnold McKemy and Alexander Mitchell. A reception was held in the Dent House. The couple took a wedding trip to the Turks and Caicos Islands. They reside in this city.
