Wedding

Killebrew and Ashe

Amelia Anderson Killebrew became the bride of John Braxton Ashe in a ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 28, in Sewanee, Tenn. The Rev. Gregory Eric Youngblood performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Frierson Killebrew. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Braxton Ware Ashe of Sheffield, Ala. Jane Killebrew Roberts was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Margaret Killebrew Griffin and Susan Elizabeth Ashe. Margaret Kruesi Griffin was the flower girl. Joseph Ruston Bishop served as best man. Groomsmen were William Allen DesPortes, John Hunter Hoskins and Justin Todd Leighton. Owen Anderson Roberts was ring bearer. A reception was held at The Hurst House in Sewanee. After a wedding trip to Central America, the couple will reside in Austin, Texas.

McKown and Worthington

Erin McKown became the bride of Joshua Worthington in a ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 10, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. The Rev. D. Andrew Olivo performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Lane McKown and Melissa McKown, both of Ringgold, Ga. Parents of the bridegroom are Dr. and Mrs. J. Mack Worthington. Melissa McKown was her daughter’s honor attendant. Bridesmaids were Emily Day, Laura Day, Christy Darr, Lauren Ownbey and Dr. Julie Worthington. Dr. Matthew Hitchcock served as best man. Groomsmen were Dr. Robert Whittaker, Dr. Wes Angel, Chris Darr, Grant McKown and Jonathan McKown. A reception was held at Fairyland Club. After a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple resides in this city.

Bledsoe and Bayless

Alissa Renee Bledsoe became the bride of Charles Dillon Bayless in a ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 7, at Camp Dixie. The Rev. Wilburn Hardyman performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Grant and Beth Bledsoe. Parents of the bridegroom are Tracy and Susan Bayless. Amanda Bledsoe was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Ashley Hodges, Hilary Deifenderfer, Codee Yaw, Brandi Cordell and Becca Kent. Adelaide Schrimpf was the flower girl. Mr. Bayless served his son as best man. Groomsmen were Adam Cagle, Chase Reynolds, Brandon Lane, Jared Yaw and Jose Vargas. Weston Hodges was ring bearer. A reception was held at Camp Dixie. After a wedding trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico, the couple resides in Hixson. The bride is the granddaughter of Jimmy and Edna Card. She graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a degree in accounting and finance. She is an accounting clerk and a member of Greenpond Baptist Church. The bridegroom is the grandson of Charles and Carolyn Bayless and Fred and Linda Cagle. Mr. Bayless graduated from UTC with a degree in criminal justice. He is a bar manager and a member of Greenpond Baptist Church.

Anderson and Thacker

The engagement of Julie Amanda Anderson and Michael Andrue Thacker is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of James and Belinda Anderson of Kingsport, Tenn. Parents of the future bridegroom are Michael and Diana Thacker. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Oct. 12, at the historic Ramsey House in Knoxville. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Charles E. Farmer and Gwen Anderson of Kingsport. Miss Anderson is a graduate of Sullivan North High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in classic civilizations and political science from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She is a Realtor/property manager for Tennessee Valley Realty Associates and is a member of Smithwood Baptist Church in Knoxville. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Robert V. Thacker of Kingston, Tenn., the late Laura S. Thacker and the late Roy T. and Edith M. Padgett. Mr. Thacker is a graduate of Notre Dame High School. He attended UTK and served in the United States Navy. He is employed by Terminix Technology Department and is a member of Smithwood Baptist Church.

The engagement of Laura Elizabeth Pratt and Richard Bradley Banks is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Pratt of Neponset, Ill., and Dr. and Mrs. Rick Cernovich of Sheffield, Ill. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Richard L. Banks of Cleveland, Tenn. The wedding is planned for Saturday, Oct. 26, at First United Methodist Church of East Peoria in Peoria, Ill. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Genster of Sheffield and the late Mr. and Mrs. Allen Pratt. Miss Pratt received a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Central Florida and a juris doctor from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Polly Banks of Manchester, Tenn., the late Lee Banks and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Allan Jones Sr. Mr. Banks is a graduate of McCallie School. He received a bachelor’s degree in finance from Auburn University and a juris doctor from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. He is an attorney with Richard Banks and Associates in Cleveland.

She received a bachelor’s degree in advertising from the University of Texas and certification in paralegal studies from Duke University. She is a project manager. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jinx Peterson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Guy Slocumb. Mr. Slocumb is a graduate of Notre Dame High School. He received a degree in illustration and graphic design from The Portfolio Center in Atlanta. He is a design director.
