Pickett and Davis

Alicia Pickett became the bride of Marvin Davis Jr. in a ceremony on Saturday, March 1, at Holy Temple Church. The Rev. Toney Bonner performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Consuayla Pickett and the late Demond Foster. Parents of the bridegroom are Satari and Joseph Durrah and Marvin Davis Sr. Keosha Craddock was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Shadaria Marble-Overton, Danielle Taylor, Wanda Ray, Victoria Williams and DeShondra Sims. Morgan Williams and Jada McKinnley were the flower girls. Tremayne Johnson and Anthony Wiley served as best men. Groomsmen were Reginald Green, Deangelo Bryant, Darius Brown, Mark Hayes and Michael Pittman. Chris Waller and Marvin Fallins were ushers. JaTari Davis and Amari Davis were ringbearers. A reception was held at the Chatt Room Inn. After a wedding trip to the Bahamas, the couple will reside in Florida.

Engagement

Ellis and Hughes

The engagement of Lauren Michelle Ellis and David Latimore Hughes Jr. is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Brian Ellis of Cleveland, Tenn. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. David Latimore Hughes of Chattanooga. The wedding is planned for Saturday, March 8, at Black Fox Farms in Cleveland. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. David K. Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Lester H. Hudgins, Willadean Ellis and the late Robert A. Ellis, all of Cleveland. Miss Ellis is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in biology at Middle Tennessee State University. She is a graphic designer with the Worx Group and a whitewater instructor for the MTSU outdoor program. She is a member of Redeemer Church in Murfreesboro, Tenn. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mrs. Nathaniel C. Hughes Jr., the late Dr. Hughes, Jack Lonas, the late Carolyn Scott Lonas and the late William D. Scott. Mr. Hughes received a bachelor’s degree and is pursuing a master’s degree in engineering technology from MTSU. He is a manufacturing engineer at Mahle Filter Systems in Murfreesboro, and is a member of Redeemer Church.

Day and Hodskins

The engagement of Emily Michelle Day and Steven Bernard Hodskins is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Garry and Linda Day of Epworth, Ga. Parents of the future bridegroom are Bernard and Monica Hodskins of Blue Ridge, Ga. The wedding is planned for Saturday, April 12, at First United Methodist Church in Copperhill, Tenn., where the future bride is a member. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Peggy McKown, the late William E. McKown Jr., Marilyn Day and Jim Moyer of Clarksville, Tenn., and the late Burleigh Day Jr. Miss Day received a bachelor’s degree in biology, summa cum laude, from the University of Georgia, where she was a member of Delta Zeta sorority. She is a third - year medical student at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center in Memphis. The future bridegroom is the grandson of John and Consuelo Blankenagel of Mexico City, Mexico, and the late Eugene and Lorene Hodskins. Mr. Hodskins received a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering from the University of Georgia. He is an engineer with EnSafe Inc., in Memphis and is a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Blue Ridge.

Arnold and McBryde

The engagement of Lauren Ashley Arnold and Garrett Lewis McBryde is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Janet Arnold Hermes of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Michael S. Arnold of Macon, Ga. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Kelly McBryde. The wedding is planned for Saturday, May 17, at The Goodlet Farm in Rock Spring, Ga. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Wendell Folks and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas B. Arnold Jr. Miss Arnold is a graduate of Ooltewah High School and Alternative Vision Hair Academy. She is a cosmetologist at Salon Thirty-A and a member of North Shore Fellowship. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Patsy Lewis, the late Fat Lewis, and Mr. and Mrs. William McBryde. Mr. McBryde is a graduate of Baylor School. He received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Mississippi and a master’s degree in construction management from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is project manager at Hutton Construction and a member of North Shore Fellowship.

Henderson and Quinn

The engagement of Andrea Danielle Henderson and Dustin Francis Quinn is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of John and Vickie Henderson of LaFayette, Ga. Parents of the future bridegroom are Rick Quinn and Kathy Hix of Spartanburg, S.C. The wedding is planned for Saturday, April 5, at the Marsh House in LaFayette. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of James and Billy Lee of LaFayette and John and Venice Henderson of Rossville. Miss Henderson is a graduate of LaFayette High School. She pursuing a degree in nursing at Georgia Northwestern Technical College. She is an after-school counselor at the North Georgia YMCA. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Geraldine Quinn of LaFayette. Mr. Quinn is a graduate of LaFayette High School. He is employed as a line loader at Roper Corp.

She is a radiologic technologist at Knoxville Orthopedic Clinic. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mrs. Gordon Mitchell, the late Mr. Mitchell and the late Mr. and Mrs. Homer Thompson. Mr. Thompson is a graduate of Soddy-Daisy High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in physical education and wellness from Carson Newman College. He is a physical education teacher with the Knox County School System.

The engagement of Raquel Clark and Bernard Harris is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Robert and Paula Clark of Huntingdon, Tenn. Parents of the future bridegroom are Robert Brooks and Wanda Eveans. The wedding is planned for Saturday, April 12, at The Chattanoogan hotel. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Louis Barham, the late Doshia Barham Williams and the late Robert and Annie Clark. Ms. Clark is a graduate of Huntingdon High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in science and mathematics education, summa cum laude, from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where she was a member of Zeta Phi Beta sorority. She is a math teacher at Dalewood Middle School and is a member of East Third Street Church of Christ. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie Harris. Mr. Harris is a graduate of Chattanooga High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from UTC, and a master’s degree in business administration from Kennesaw State University. He is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He is a financial analyst at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee and is a member of East Third Street Church of Christ.

The engagement of Sara Elizabeth Jewell and Seth Martin Cathy is announced today. The future bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Houston Jewell III of Chickamauga, Ga. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Donald Martin “Bubba” Cathy of Jonesboro, Ga. A June wedding is planned at the D.A. Jewell home in Chickamauga. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ed Chitko and the late Mr. and Mrs. Bob Jewell. Miss Jewell received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Berry College. She is a support manager at Orange Grove Center and is a member of LaFayette First United Methodist Church. The future bridegroom is the grandson of Lurine Kirkland, the late Jarrell Kirkland and Mr. and Mrs. Truett Cathy, all of Jonesboro. Mr. Cathy received a bachelor’s degree in history from Berry College. He is a self-employed ceramic artist and is a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro.

The bride is the daughter of Carl Woerner of Dunlap, Tenn., and Dr. Darlene White. Parents of the bridegroom are David Morrison and Della Lowery of Tuscaloosa, Ala. The couple resides in Birmingham, Ala.

Kelly Powers became the bride of Ryan Bass in a ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Dr. Gary Carver performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Steve and Sue Powers. Parents of the bridegroom are Stan and Sandy Bass of Los Angeles. Sarah Norman was matron of honor. Maggie Patterson was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were MacKenzie Bass, Jessica Boyd, Katelyn Holifield, Kelly Johnson, Bailey Larson and Cary Queen. Grace Gilbert was the flower girl. Mr. Bass served his son as best man. Groomsmen were Pryor Bacon, Lyles Holifield, Adam Marshall, Thad Morton, Stephen Powers and Max Schneider. Jonah Norman was ring bearer. A reception was held at The Walden Club. The couple took a wedding trip to New York City. They reside in Birmingham, Ala.

Rachel Elizabeth Davis became the bride of Joshua Michael Parrish in a ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at Calvary Baptist Church in Alcoa, Tenn. The Rev. Danny Davis performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Danny and Jan Davis of Knoxville. Parents of the bridegroom are Tony and Jennifer Parrish. Melissa McCamis and Tracie Davis were the bride’s honor attendants. Sierra Bean, Abby Satterfield and Hannah Hickman were bridesmaids. Jonathan Parrish served as best man. Groomsmen were Tony Parrish, Graham Kiser, Brad Davis and Jacob McCamis. Mason Davis was ring bearer and Parker Davis was sign bearer. A reception was held at The Emporium in Knoxville. The couple took a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico. They reside in this city.
