University of Tennessee at Chattanooga: Hall waived by WNBA’s Sun
Laura Hall’s run with the Connecticut Sun came to an end after a little more than a week Monday. The former University of Tennessee at Chattanooga point guard was one of three players waived in the Sun’s first full round of cuts during training camp.
Hall, who signed as a free agent, reported to the Sun’s camp on April 19. She was one of several undrafted players to receive a tryout. Hall couldn’t be reached for comment Monday night, but she said Friday that she expected to be let go when cuts were made before the Sun’s first preseason game Thursday.
The other waived players were forward Crystal Erwin from Notre Dame and Jessica Richter, a guard from Vanguard University. The Sun released forward Antoinette Upshaw of Edward Waters College last Wednesday.
Hall started 121 of 124 games in her UTC career, which included four Southern Conference regular-season championships and three SoCon tournament titles. She finished sixth on the Lady Mocs’ all-time assist list with 429 and was named the conference’s player of the month in March.
