KNOXVILLE — University of Tennessee defensive tackle Chase Nelson, who appeared in four games last year, will miss the season with a knee injury.

Nelson suffered the injury — a “traumatic patella tendon rupture,” according to a member of the UT staff — at Tuesday’s practice.
