NASHVILLE — A local businessman, a University of Tennessee at Chattanooga professor and a UTC student have been named to the University of Tennessee’s Board of Trustees.
Gov. Phil Bredesen announced that John Foy, chief financial officer at CBL & Associates Properties Inc., has been named to a six-year term on the board, the governing body of the UT system. The system includes UT in Knoxville, UTC and UT-Martin.
Mr. Foy replaces James L. “Bucky” Wolford of Chattanooga, whose term expired.
Gov. Bredesen also named UTC English Department head Verbie L. Prevost as a one-year, non-voting member of the UT Board.
Also named to the board was UTC student Tyler S. Forrest of Athens, Tenn., to a one-year term as a non-voting student member.
Both Ms. Prevost and Mr. Forrest will become voting members for a one-year term next year.
