Chattanooga: Former Chamber official sentenced to 18-months in federal prison

U.S. District Court Judge Harry S. “Sandy” Mattice today sentenced a former Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce employee to 18 months in prison on a single count of bank fraud.

Judge Mattice sentenced Angela Glover, 52, to the prison term despite pleas from her attorney for a reduced or alternative punishment because Ms. Glover is the sole caregiver to her two young grandchildren.

Ms. Glover, former director of the Chamber’s small business incubator, pleaded guilty April 7, to stealing more than $83,000.

Judge Mattice ordered her to repay First Tennessee Bank more than $22,000 and to repay the Chamber more than $61,000.

She is scheduled to report to the Bureau of Prisons no later than 2 p.m. Oct. 10.
