UTC blog: Passing game sharp in morning workout
In a week the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football team will be in a whole different world, in Norman, Okla., but this morning at Finley Stadium the Mocs were in their element and looking confident and comfortable.
During a light workout in shorts and shoulder pads, the Mocs’ passing game was sharp and the whole team jogged off the field after about an hour with smiles on their faces. After a quick change of clothes they headed over to the First Tennessee Pavilion for a “Meet the Mocs” autograph session with the fans, about 200 of whom showed up to watch the practice.
After a couple of drops by UTC’s wide receivers, and a very nice interception by safety Tony Swafford, the Mocs’ passing game got hot and stayed that way. Wideouts Clint Woods, Blue Cooper and Thomas Hinton, tight end Joseph Pitman and fullback Brent Hayes all made good plays after making grabs from quarterbacks Jare Gault, Tony Pastore and Sloan Allison.
