The Chattanooga Times Free Press received over 330 photos for the Mainx24 Photo contest in just under 3 days. There were some great prizes up for grab for the winners, too. We were excited to see the high turnout of photo submissions.
The rules of the contest and how the selections were made:
Photos had to be taken at the Mainx24 Festival starting at 8:00am on Saturday, December 6th, 2008 through 8:00am Sunday, December 7th, 2008. Photos had to be submitted to the Chattanooga Times Free Press by 5:00pm on Monday, December 8th, 2008. At that time, the Chattanooga Times Free Press Editorial Photo department selected the top 20 photos to submitted into the "People's Choice" contest. At that time, they also selected the "Editor's Choice".
The "People's Choice" contest was made live on the timesfreepress.com website from midnight Tuesday, December 9th, 2008 until 12 noon on Friday, December 12th, 2008 for web site visitors to select their favorite photo.
Web site visitors voting for their favorite photo could only select a single photo and only vote once. This was controlled by "cookie-ing" the voting user's internet browser.
Employees of the Chattanooga Times Free Press were not eligible to win.
There were a number of articles written on the Times Free Press website about the 24-hour event.
