Chattanooga man is victim of late-night robbery

Chattanooga police are looking for a suspect in a robbery that happened late Tuesday night.

Christopher Clark told police that he was parking his car in front of his house at 4806 13th Ave. about 11:20 p.m. Tuesday when he was approached by a man.

The man asked Mr. Clark if he had 50 cents. When Mr. Clark said he didn’t, the suspect produced a small revolver and demanded all of Mr. Clark’s money, said Chattanooga Police Department spokeswoman Jerri Weary in a news release. He refused to give up his money and the two men became involved in a struggle.

The suspect then struck Clark in the head with the pistol and fled the area. Witnesses told police that the suspect left the scene in a blue SUV.

The suspect is described as a tall black male with medium complexion, of thin build and with long dreadlocks. He was wearing a red shirt and was possibly in his 20s.

Mr. Clark was transported to the hospital for observation of his injuries. Property crimes detectives will continue with the investigation. Anyone with information about this incident or the identity of this suspect is encouraged to call the Chattanooga Police Department at 698-2525.
