Bradley teen dies, 2nd hospitalized in drug overdose

CLEVELAND, Tenn. — A 14-year-old boy is dead and a 15-year-old is hospitalized today after they apparently took prescription medicine, according to the Bradley County Sheriff’s office.

The dead youth was identified as Jonathan Tucker of 7929 Spring Place Road. The second youth’s name has not been made public, sheriff’s spokesman Bob Gault said in a news release.

He said a 911 call came in at 7:22 a.m. today that a 14-year-old had lost consciousness at a home on Spring Place Road near the Georgia line. Attempts to revive the youth were unsuccessful.

The department’s investigation revealed that the teens had spent the night together and had taken medicine prescribed to someone else.
