CLEVELAND, Tenn. — Candidates for office in Bradley County talked to voters Thursday night at an all-candidate forum at Lee University organized by the Cleveland Lions Club.

Attorney James F. Logan was the moderator and members of the Cleveland Media Association asked questions.

The candidates for 10th District Circuit Judge, Ginger Wilson Buchanan and Mike Sharp, both promoted their experience in the courtroom and citing a backlog of cases that need to be addressed.

Two of the three candidates to replace the retiring Max Carroll on the Cleveland Board of Education were at the forum.

Steve Morgan spoke of his experience with school issues and said the fact that he’s blind can be seen as an advantage because he has learned a lot about technology to adapt.

Mr. Blake said he’s a “technology person,” an advantage as schools move toward bringing education up to date.

Candidates for Cleveland City Council and Bradley County school board also were present to talk about their platforms.

Individual races will be profiled over the next several days.

Read about and hear from the judge candidates in Saturday’s Times Free Press.
