Personalities and Job Changes
CPA firm makes appointments
Suzy Anthony, Troy Fairley, Jason Holliman and Wesley Jewell have been named managers at Hazlett, Lewis & Bieter PLLC, a Chattanooga-based certified public accounting firm.
Ms. Anthony is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and serves in the audit area of the firm. She is a licensed CPA and lives in Chattanooga with her husband, Mike, and son, Frank.
Mr. Fairley is a graduate of Tennessee Technological University who also holds a master’s of accounting degree. He also is a CPA serving in the audit area of the firm. He lives with his wife, Dena, in Ooltewah.
Mr. Holliman also graduated from Tennessee Tech and serves in the firm’s audit area. He is a CPA and lives with his wife, Julia, in Hixson.
Mr. Jewell earned bachelor’s and master’s of accountancy degrees from UTC.
He is a CPA who is in the firm’s audit area. He lives in Soddy-Daisy with his wife, Autumn.
Hudson named sales manager
Jerald “Jay” Hudson has become sales manager at The Chattanoogan hotel and conference center.
He previously served as national sales manager at the Peabody Hotel in Memphis. He is a graduate of the University of Phoenix.
The Chattanoogan is located on the Southside.
Sullivan takes post at Northwest Bank
Northwest Georgia Bank has named Mark Sullivan to serve as vice president and senior commercial lender of its Ooltewah-Collegedale branch. In his new role, he will manage the branch’s business development efforts. He has been with the bank for 11 years.
He has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
He began his career in banking in 1986 at American National Bank & Trust Co. He is also a U.S. Army veteran who also served in the Army Reserves.
He and his wife, Angela, have a son, Ryan, and they live in East Brainerd.
Northwest Georgia Bank is based in Ringgold, Ga.
Sonic employees in competition
Employees of the Sonic Drive-In at 6216 Hixson Pike are a step closer to qualifying for the national finals of the 14th annual Dr Pepper Sonic Games.
The competition recognizes the best Sonic Drive-Ins in the country, and the Hixson Sonic is one of 300 remaining drive-ins trying to become one of the final 12 teams to participate in the finals in Palmetto, Fla., in September.
“The crew should be proud of their hard work and dedication,” said Nelson Taylor, vice president of operations services for Sonic Industries.
The competition attracted more than 2,700 drive-ins across the country.
The nine-month competition evaluates individual crew members from coast to coast in categories such as food delivery, drink preparation and service delivery. Sonic’s top executives will honor the winners with gold, silver and bronze medals at its National Convention in Orlando this fall.
UBS names Eddy as account VP
UBS Financial Services Inc. has announced that Tom Eddy has become an account vice president. He has been a financial adviser with the firm in its Chattanooga office and is a more than five-year veteran of the securities industry. Mr. Eddy has received the certified financial planner designation.
Mr. Eddy is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and before joining UBS he was president and COO of Wireless Properties.
He and his wife, Dayna, live on Lookout Mountain.
UBS is a global investment banking and securities firm.
Insurance group taps BeVille as head
Douglas R. BeVille III has been elected 2008-09 president of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors for Tennessee.
He is the owner of Profit Plans LLC in Chattanooga and has been a member of the group since 1975.
The group was founded in 1890 as the National Association of Life Underwriters and is made up of 800 state and local associations representing the business interests of 225,000 members.
Winter proprietor of steak house
Chris Winter has become the proprietor of the Chattanooga Outback Steakhouse.
He succeeds Matt Robinson, who has retired after serving his hometown community for 15 years.
Mr. Winter had been a manager at the Athens, Ga., restaurant and has been with Outback for almost 10 years.
