Chattanooga police charge two after stolen property recovered

Property crime investigators with the Chattanooga Police Department recovered more than $10, 000 in stolen property Friday from 3813 Grace Ave. and took two people into custody in connection with a recent theft.

Several lawn tractors and other stolen items were found at the residence, Chattanooga police spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary stated in a news release.

Residents Kelley Clingan and Allen Tate were arrested and charged with theft over $10,000, she said.

On June 11, more than $46,000 in property was stolen from Homestead Lawn and Tractor at 5112 Highway 153, according to police. Investigators have been working to find the people involved and recover the property.

Police said progress in the case was hampered by a lack of suspect information, but after the pair were questioned they were charged in connection with the incident.

Investigators are continuing to look into the case.
