Update: Interstate 75 southbound now open after being shut down following accident

Interstate 75 southbound is open again after being shut down this morning following a wreck south of the Cloud Springs Road exit in Georgia, according to a Catoosa County Sheriff’s Department dispatcher.

She said a wreck involves an 18-wheeler and another automobile and there was an entrapment.

The interstate was closed for several hours as emergency crews worked to free the victim and clean the interstate.

Traffic was routed off of I-75 south at the Clouds Springs Road exit.

The Georgia State Patrol worked the accident, she said.
