Candidate Vincent doesn’t like toll bridge proposal

Former State Rep. Jim Vincent, R-Soddy-Daisy, a candidate for the District 31 state house seat, said he would prefer that a bridge connecting Soddy-Daisy and Harrison not be funded with a toll.

State Rep. Jim Cobb, R-Spring City, Mr. Vincent’s opponent in the Aug. 7 primary, has pushed for the toll bridge plan.

Mr. Cobb said the money is not available for a bridge to be built using traditional funding sources.

Both candidates spoke today at a meeting of the Soddy-Daisy North Hamilton County Council of the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce.
