Tennessee: TSSAA votes 5-4 to keep multiplier

FRANKLIN, Tenn. — The multiplier system used by the Tennessee Secondary Schools Athletic Association will remain in effect, after the board of control voted 5-4 to keep it Wednesday.

The multiplier system was enacted in 2005 and multiplies the enrollment of Division I private schools by 1.8 to determine classification. The board of control is meeting to decide rules and classifications for all TSSAA sports for the 2009-2012 seasons.

For more from the TSSAA meetings, check back timesfreepress.com and read Thursday’s Chattanooga Times Free Press. Sports section.
