Chattanooga: Silverdale inmate recaptured Sunday

A man who walked away from a work detail at the Silverdale workhouse’s laundry facility Saturday morning was apprehended Sunday afternoon by Chattanooga police officers, according to Lt. Max Templeton of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department.

Michael Frazier, 33, was incarcerated for theft and vandalism convictions and was due for release in November, the lieutenant said.

Before the escape, Mr. Frazier had been charged with more than 40 crimes, officials said.

This was the third time Mr. Frazier has walked away from the laundry facility, with two of those escapes happening within five months of each other, corrections officials said.
