The nine-year-old child critically injured Monday night on Dolly Pond Road has died.

Dowen Talon Grissom, died around 7 p.m. Tuesday at T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital after suffering critical injuries after he crashed his ATV into an SUV traveling north on Dolly Pond Road.

It is Hamilton County's fifth traffic-related fatality of the year.

The child was flown by Life Force helicopter ambulance to T.C. Thompson’s. No other injuries were reported but the driver of the SUV was shaken from the incident, according to Lt. Max Templeton with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.

The traffic division of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office began reconstruction of the accident at 9 a.m. Wednesday. Traffic Investigator Sgt. Mark Kimsey is handling the investigation.
