Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School assistant principal dies

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School assistant principal Ron Arp died suddenly Monday night of an apparent heart attack.

According to reports, Mr. Arp, 58, was the only administrator who was an original staff member at the Catoosa County, Ga., school, which opened in 1973.

He had served as wrestling coach in the past, and was still teaching history in addition to his duties overseeing discipline at the school.

Mr. Arp had been assistant principal for the past four years. He is survived by a wife and two sons.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory on Battlefield Parkway.
