Pee Wee Moore stops by the Times Free Press

Pee Wee Moore (formerly of the Tennessee Rounders) is about as determined a musician you’re likely to find here in Chattanooga. His legendary shows with the Tennessee Rounders are well documented, as are his 4-hour long sets with his former partner Channing Wilson. But times do change and now Pee Wee finds himself on his own, with a new band, the Awful Dreadful Snakes. The band plans to release their first album in a few months, but we’ll get a sneak peak on this week’s MUSICcast. I think fans of the Tennessee Rounders are going to enjoy what they hear.

Some wonderful live music this weekend:

The Slits are performing again and this time they’re rolling through Chattanooga. Fans of punk music and just music in general should enjoy this show at JJ’s Bohemia tonight. I’m not sure what to expect, but it may be worth it anyway. Tickets are $7. Showtime is 10 p.m.

Saturday night, the daughter of Isaac Hayes, Heather Hayes, rolls into town with her band. Her music is straight up R&B and her band is great. The show is at Rhythm & Brews and tickets are $7.

The Sid Vicious Experience returns to Ziggy’s, Chattanooga’s favorite punk rock venue. Expect a fun and LOUD time. Tickets are $5 at the door. Showtime is 10 p.m.

Also on Saturday night, at JJ’s Bohemia, the Little Country Giants are scheduled to perform. They’ll be joined by several other bluegrass bands. Tickets are $5. Showtime is 9 p.m.

Have a great weekend.
