DAYTON, Tenn. — Rhea County School Board Chairman Bill Davault said Thursday night that enough money should be available to keep school buses running this school year.
“It’s not desperate this year,” he said. “Next year is where we’ll be in trouble.”
Sen. Tommy Kilby, D-Wartburg; Rep. Jim Cobb, R-Spring City; Rhea County commissioners and school board members met Thursday night to discuss the strain of rising diesel fuel costs on the school budget.
All parties agreed to meet again in two weeks after crunching numbers to see how much it would take to get through this school year and next.
