Once again, the campus of St. Andrew’s-Sewanee School in Sewanee, Tenn. is the site for Shakerag residential workshops this June.

Workshop director Claire Reishman will bring together a stellar faculty of art professionals to teach each weeklong session. This year’s offerings include instruction in clay, digital arts, photography, mixed media, basketmaking, fiber and book arts.

Scheduled for the first session (June 15-21) are classes in handbuilding with clay by Hayne Bayless, functional pottery by Val Cushing, creating visual narratives by Diane Farris, basketmaking with Flo Hope, felting with Lisa Klakulak and plein-air photography by Joe and Joanna Swayze.

The second session (June 22-28) is composed of designing tactile notebooks by Sandra Brownlee and Anne West, developing a visual language by Chris Bucklow, firing shino-glazed pots by Malcolm Davis, screen printing by Kerr Grabowski, computer graphics by Golan Levin and pottery with Ellen Shankin.

Tuition and meals for one week are $650. Housing fees vary from $200 to $325 per week. Additional lab fees of $25 to $90 may apply.

To register, call Ms. Reishman at (931) 968-0210, ext. 3165, or visit www.shakerag.org.
