The Chattanooga Area Convention and Visitors Bureau on Thursday announced the opening of a tourist information center inside Hamilton Place mall.

The new tourist information center and guest services kiosk includes information specialists, two LCD plasma screens that will run the Bureau’s consumer videos and commercials, brochure slots and a touch-screen computer that gives visitors exclusive access to Chattanooga’s official tourism Web site, www.chattanoogafun.com.

“We’re pleased to be able to offer tourists an additional place to get information on Chattanooga,” said Bob Doak, the group’s chief executive.
