Chattanooga: Election commission finds Healy ineligible for mayoral run

The Hamilton County Election Commission voted unanimously this morning to declare former Chattanooga Parks and Recreation Director Rob Healy ineligible to run for mayor, said Elections Administrator Bud Knowles.

Jerry Summers, the attorney for the Election Commission, said Mr. Healy could file a lawsuit with the Hamilton County Chancery Court to challenge the commission’s decision if he so wishes. Mr. Summers said the commission would not file any such suit.

Mr. Healy has said it would be prohibitively expensive to file such a lawsuit.
