SEC centerpiece game: Tennessee at Georgia

Saturday in Athens, Ga.

Time: 3:30 p.m.

TV: CBS

Line: Georgia by 12

Series: Tennessee leads 20-15-2

The Vols win if ... : Nick Stephens can continue completing the occasional deep pass. I think it’s extremely unfair to blame Tennessee’s offensive line for some of the team’s struggles. Those linemen are facing unmanageable defensive fronts because no one respects the passing game. Five can’t block eight. Stephens throws well on the run — he will see blitzes Saturday — and if he completes a few deep ones, Arian Foster will have more room to work.

The Bulldogs win if ... : Knowshon Moreno’s elbow can endure an SEC game. The Vols play a lot of cover-2, and their secondary can absolutely match up with Georgia. In a cover-2, however, the offense can account for almost all of the defense’s tacklers. With Brannan Southerland back, Moreno should have more room to run than two weeks ago against Alabama.

X-factor: Special teams. The Vols are awful in the punt game — though Britton Colquitt’s return will certainly help — while Georgia is outstanding. Punt returns for touchdowns helped Georgia immensely against Tennessee in 2001 and 2005, and it could be a major factor Saturday.

Pick: Georgia 20, Tennessee 15
