Chestnut repeats as Krystal champ

Reigning hamburger eating champion, Joey Chestnut, of San Jose, Calif., swallowed the competition at the Krystal Square Off World Hamburger Eating Championship on Sunday, eating 95 burgers in eight minutes.

His closest challengers were Japanese eating legend Takeru Kobayashi and Patrick Bertoletti, of Chicago, stuffed themselves with 84 and 85 hamburgers, respectively.

More than 10,000 people are estimated to have attended this year’s event, which was televised live on the FSN South network.
