I Love My Job at: ContinuCare

My nursing job for ContinuCare HealthServices means that I have the opportunity to meet wonderful people who need health care at home.

Being a ContinuCare home health nurse enables me to be independent and teach clients and their families how to care and take charge of their own health.

As an employee for ten years, I’ve been fortunate to be able to use my nursing career on the road and enjoy the versatility of helping and meeting new people.

I have the fondest memory of a young gentleman who was my patient for two years. He struggled with a seizure disorder and paralysis to his whole body and had been this way for nearly ten years. There was never a visit that I made with him that he was not smiling, cheerful and telling jokes.

His wife always inspired me. She never complained about her burdened situation but would on numerous occasions during my visits tell her husband that she loved him. I was glad to be her source of support each time she was frightened that her husband had to return to the hospital.

ContinuCare is a multifaceted company consisting of Private Duty, Home Health, Home Medical Equipment and Moore & King Pharmacy. As part of the Erlanger family, having all of these services available helps me care for my clients no matter what their needs might be. I feel as if each client should be treated with respect and be cared for in the most complete way.

Having the support of the ContinuCare staff and co-workers and feeling that I am valued as an employee helps me perform my job to the best of my ability. These are some of the reasons why I love my job with ContinuCare.
