Baylor’s Gawthrop, Parkes sign with TTU, SCAD

The Baylor girls’ soccer team added two more college signees this afternoon when seniors Sarah Gawthrop and Cydney Parkes signed to continue their careers.

Gawthrop, a central midfielder and forward for the Lady Red Raiders, will compete for Tennessee Tech University. Parkes, a Baylor forward, signed with Savannah College of Art and Design.

“I think both of them found great places to play that are good fits for them,” Baylor coach Jimmy Weekley said. “Sarah and Cydney were very wise to find places they want to get a good education for themselves.”

The two players helped the Lady Red Raiders to a national ranking during their 17-1-1 season last fall.
