Did the voters get it right on the first finalists?

By Phil Stacey

So the first finalists officially named are Alexis Grace, Michael Sarver, and Danny Gokey. What do you think? Did they get it right?

I personally felt that Anoop Desai was a little robbed. No, he didn’t give the greatest perforance we had seen from him, but we know what he is capable of greatness. But to be honest, I suspect we will see him return as a wild card just like Clay Aiken did Season 2. And I expect he will make it to the Top 10 as well.

Michael Sarver will have a big Texas fan base pulling for him, but I think he would gain a much broader fan base if he would start singing country music. Come on, Michael! Your life is a country song! It is who you are!!!

Anyway, I felt bad for Tatiana, but it was bound to happen some time or the other. Next week is a whole new line up. Is there anyone we should be watching out for? We’ll see. I’m still waiting for a girl to knock one out of the park.

Until then, be safe.

Given the format, this was pretty much right. I'm not sure why it shouldn't be the top 3 vote getters regardless of male or female. Based on the votes, Anoop would have been there instead of Alexis.

I hope and pray we have seen the last of Tatiana. Even when Danny was singing at the end, the camera kept focusing on her sobbing. She is like Katherine McPhee on steroids!

From your earlier blog, I agree that Jamar should be in this group. Can he be a wild card selection?

So far, Danny seems to be the only one who could step up and win this thing. He obviously has a lot of fan support.

Any chance you will be a surprise guest like Carly and Michael?
