Five arrested in Soddy-Daisy after authorities find meth lab

Five people were arrested in Soddy-Daisy on Tuesday evening after authorities discovered a meth lab in their mobile home.

A Soddy-Daisy police officer received information about a possible meth lab on Lot 79 at the mobile home park at 11229 Hixson Pike, said Soddy-Daisy Police Chief Phillip Hamrick. The Soddy-Daisy officer and Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office deputies went to the residence, knocked and were told to enter.

Authorities eventually noticed a strong chemical smell like that of a cooking methamphetamine lab coming from the residence and asked all residents to leave while they investigated, Chief Hamrick said.

Officers went into one room of the home and found coffee filters, aluminum foil, electrical tape and a plastic bottle containing a bi-layer liquid, among other items, Chief Hamrick said.

Kenneth Rogers, James Casey Rogers, Tiffany Sneed, Jamie Akins and Carie McGlamery were arrested and booked at the Hamilton County Jail on a charge of initiation of the methamphetamine manufacturing process, Chief Hamrick said
