Tennessee: Vanity Fair blogger bashes Robin Smith

A blog posted Wednesday night on Vanity Fair magazine’s Web site bashed Tennessee Republican Party Chairwoman Robin Smith on the day announced her run for Congress.

The post, titled “Now Running for Congress: Poisonous Partisan Robin Smith” blasts Ms. Smith for approving state GOP videos and news releases about President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama during last year’s presidential campaign.

One news release, called “Anti-Semites for Obama,” included a picture of Mr. Obama in a turban. An Associated Press report from Wednesday states that Ms. Smith called a reporter’s question about that news release “unprofessional.”

Mark Winslow, a spokesman for Ms. Smith’s campaign, said the campaign was not concerned about “what national liberal authors have to say.”
