UTC Chancellor Roger Brown will get a modest boost in his housing allowance this year.
Dr. Brown, who lives in a home owned by the University of Chattanooga Foundation on Lookout Mountain, will receive $91,378 in the 2010 fiscal year from the UT system for housing costs, according to board documents.
In 2008, $76,642 was spent on senior-level administrative housing, documents show. Probable expenses for 2009 total $88,590.
The UT board finance committee approved the expenditure during a meeting in Knoxville this morning.
Of the more than $91,000 the allotted for next year, $35,535 would go toward custodial, building and ground expenses. More than $12,000 will be spent on utilities, and $26,000 will be spent on maintenance and repairs, documents show.
In other business, the UT board postponed a vote to sell the UT president’s mansion at 940 Cherokee Boulevard in Knoxville. Trustees are awaiting an appraisal on the property.
The board approved a $50,000 fund to maintain the Knoxville residence.
