In conjunction with the Chattanooga Choo-Choo's year-long centennial celebration, WTCI-TV and the Chattanooga Choo-Choo are hosting a free preview screening of "Tracing the Tracks," a WTCI-produced documentary, on Tuesday, June 30, at 7:30 p.m. at the Choo-Choo's Centennial Theatre.
"Tracing the Tracks" explores the history of the Chattanooga Choo-Choo and the history of the rail system in eastern and southern regions. The use of the song, "Chattanooga Choo-Choo," made famous by the Glenn Miller Orchestra in 1941, is a unifying theme of the documentary.
The documentary will premiere on WTCI on Wednesday, July 15, at 9 p.m.
Chair Affair seeking artists
On Point is looking for artists to donate painted or decorated chairs to its fourth annual Chair Affair art auction on Nov. 7 at Loose Cannon Studio. All proceeds will benefit On Point's youth outreach and leadership development programs serving students in 62 area schools.
There are no restrictions to what type of chair is used, and artists are free to paint or decorate their chair using the medium of their choice. Donated chairs will be displayed in store windows throughout Chattanooga during the month of October.

All finished chairs must be delivered to the On Point office, 4509 Hixson Pike, by Sept. 23.

Potluck dinner at Crabtree Farms
Crabtree Farms is opening its gates to the public for a potluck dinner and tour of the farm on Tuesday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. as part of the Main Street Farmers Market's "New Food Economy Week." Crabtree Farms is located near downtown at 1000 East 30th St.
The tour is free for all. Anyone choosing not to bring a dish for the potluck dinner, but who still plans to eat, will be charged $8.

Hospice adolescent retreat June 27
The Bereavement Department of Hospice of Chattanooga will hold its adolescent grief retreat on Saturday, June 27, at The Chattanooga Nature Center, 400 Garden Road. The free retreat is sponsored by the Hospice of Chattanooga Foundation.
The one-day retreat, for ages 12-18 who have suffered a recent loss, helps teens with the healing process through music enrichment, arts and crafts and journaling.

Litespeed bicycle demo rides Tuesday
Litespeed Bicycles and River City Bicycles will bring a fleet of demo bikes to the weekly Chattanooga Bicycle Club's Red Bank ride Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
The fleet will be set up in the former Bi-Lo parking lot in Red Bank off Dayton Boulevard, weather-permitting. Cyclists should bring helmets and shoes along with a driver's license for collateral.
The bike fleet will also be available at meetings on July 28 and Aug. 25.
Quilt show in Crossville
The Mountain Memories Quilt Show will be held at the Community Complex Fairgrounds in Crossville, Tenn., today from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. CST in conjunction with Crossville's Depot Days and the Antique Tractor Show.
The show is sponsored by the Cumberland County Piecemakers Quilt Guild. It features about 200 quilts of all sizes including bed quilts, wall hangings, wearables and home décor. There will be demonstrations each day. Marsha Radtke of Crossville will sign her book, "A Baltimore Album."

Soddy-Daisy family day June 27
The Soddy -Daisy High School Band will host Clear Creek Family Day on Saturday, June 27, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Clear Creek Church of Christ on Hixson Pike.
The event is a fundraiser for the band's trip to the 2010 Tournament of Roses Parade.
The day of old-fashioned fun will include wet and dry inflatables, children's games, balloons and concessions.
Admission is free, but $5 armbands will be sold to play in the inflatables all day.
There will be a nominal charge for other activities.
Smoking cessation class Wednesday
"Freedom from Smoking," an eight-week smoking cessation course begins Wednesday in Memorial Hospital's Center for Cancer Support, Suite 307.
The free course meets from noon to 1:30 p.m.
Participants learn to think positively and avoid traps of falling back into the smoking habit.
Small-group discussion and interaction with others who have quit smoking are part of the program.

Butterfly count scheduled today
The Cumberland Trail State Park is sponsoring a North American Butterfly Association-sanctioned butterfly count in the North Chickamauga Creek Gorge today at 11 a.m.
Volunteers should meet at the main North Chickamauga Creek parking area, 354 Montlake Road in Soddy-Daisy.
Volunteers of all ages are needed to count butterflies sighted within the selected count area.
No experience is necessary.
