Aid worker from Cleveland shot, killed in Africa

An aid worker from Cleveland, Tenn., working in the capital of the African nation of Mauritania was shot and killed today during an attempted kidnapping, according to authorities there.

Christopher Leggett was resisting two men trying to kidnap him on a street when his attackers shot him and drove away, according to law enforcement.

Mr. Leggett headed a school for computer science and languages in Nouakchott, according to the RTT News agency.
