The Chattanooga City Council discussed today appointing a new cabinet for Mayor Ron Littlefield, with the only questions concerning the city attorney and how he handles conflicts of interest.

The council is set to vote on the mayor’s top administrative positions tonight. The city attorney position is jointly filled by the council and the mayor.

Councilwoman Carol Berz asked if there could be any conflicts of interest because the city attorney does represent both.

“Let me know, that’s when I’ll recuse myself,” Interim City Attorney Mike McMahan said.
