Bradley County: Woman dies after being hit by van

A 92-year-old woman who was hit by a van last week in Cleveland, Tenn., has died from her injuries.

Hattie Para Lee Haney died Monday, said Bob Gault, the Bradley County sheriff’s spokesman. She was struck in the intersection of Watkins Street and Brownwood Drive last Wednesday, he said.

An investigation by the sheriff’s traffic unit indicates Ms. Haney, who lived on Watkins Street, was walking on Brownwood Drive when she was struck by a 1999 Pontiac van driven by Chuck Ray Norman, 34, who also lived on Watkins Street.

Ms. Haney was airlifted to Erlanger hospital.

No charges have been filed but the investigation will continue, Mr. Gault said.
