Nursing home's suspension lifted

Life Care Center of Red Bank again is accepting admissions after correcting deficiencies found during an annual state inspection, according to a news release.

On June 17, the Tennessee Department of Health ordered the 148-bed nursing home not to admit new residents, imposed a one-time $5,000 state penalty and a $6,150-a-day federal penalty until violations identified in the annual survey were corrected.

The Tennessee Department of Health confirmed that Life Care Center of Red Bank has returned to compliance under state licensing regulations and corrected the violations.

During the survey, held between May 26 and June 9, inspectors identified violations in the nursing home's administration, performance improvement, physician services, nursing services, medical records and pharmaceutical services areas, the release from the state health department said.

Ivy Academy gets extended deadline

Officials with Ivy Academy will have a 30-day grace period to get their school ready for operation after failing to meet the original deadline Monday.

Hamilton County Board of Education attorney Scott Bennett said the local school system has decided to work with Ivy on its largest outstanding issues: securing enough money to operate and getting its portable buildings ready for occupancy.

"We're trying to continue to alert them of issues while giving them plenty of time," Mr. Bennett said. "But if they're not ready by July 30, they're done."

Inspecting a nursing home is like inspecting a hospital. Quick as the "inspectors" leave it's back to "how cheaply we can provide minimal service, over-bill the State, Feds, and insurance companies". All while smiling and talking about Jesus and their great compassion, love, and duty of doing God's work.

Life Care's bosses do it all.Talk about Jesus out of one side of their mouths, while figuring out how to over-bill and under-provide nursing care to "Make More Money" out the other side.

Fortunately there are good staff and employees at many of Life Care's facility. But they do what the founding Ăśbermensch Preston and their current President, Beecher Goebbels tells them to do.

Notice how smart, clean, and wonderful the buildings look on the outside, but it's rotten on the inside.

Much like a western town in the movies, the town looks real, but there's nothing behind the facade except gaming tables where the house ALWAYS wins.

For Life Care, it's about appearance and style over substance, much like Bernie Madoff.

Harry, I suspect there are good employees at Life Care's home offices too. Sounds like you have a bone to pick anyway....

No bone to pick with Life Care per se, just the hypocrisy that flows from the Founding fuhrer and his Reichstag cronies.

I'm sure there are good people at Life Care's home office, but the veil over their eyes never disappears if they keep drinking from the Fount of Jonestown Kool-Aid dispensed at every opportunity "in Jesus' name". Except my tax money goes to support these three-piece suit wearing "religious hypocrites".

I do hate religious hypocrisy. "Give your money to God, but make the check payable to Life Care.

"Just doing God's work." Wasn't that Jimmy Swaggert's and Jim Bakker's defense?

I have more respect for a Klansman, dressed in his white robes, spewing vile, hateful speech, because they're honest enough to tell you who they are.

It's the Armani suits of the High Priests of Life Care that are the most dangerous.
